The Greater Crisfield Action Coalition, Inc. (GCAC) is a 501C3 Community Development Corporation, located in the City of Crisfield, MD. The organization was formed in 2015 through the efforts of the Crisfield business community and local residents seeking to help promote economic development to transform the city into a thriving and vibrant community. We are committed to working and collaborating together with the City, County and State government to make it happen.
We have learned much in the last 5 years. We know that to achieve our goals for Crisfield, we need to collaborate and promote the greater area and the region. Our proximity to each other ensures that any achieved success will benefit all the cities, towns and counties we border. We also know that Crisfield is an important anchor. This is due to its location on the water, its reputation in the seafood industry, its appeal to visitors who seek a serene environment with a wide variety of recreational opportunities and all at a lower cost of living (versus other beach communities on the East Coast) and with small town charm. This has tremendous appeal to many retiring Boomers and purchasers of second homes who are looking for a place just like this. We think it has been the best kept secret in MD and the East Coast of the United States.
The investment opportunities here in Crisfield and in the greater area are many. Crisfield is interested in identifying hotel investors/developers, new home builders who can develop several levels of housing, restaurateurs who can diversify our options, small businesses in the service and retail space. We are also seeking to attract businesses and new technologies centric to our natural resources (water/agriculture) as well as other new industries to create jobs in our community.
